Christian Cutler will present "Phone Tips For Photographing Your Artwork" at the Thursday, January 26, 2017, meeting of Mid-Missouri Artists. Cutler will go over a few simple tips for using a smartphone to capture images of artwork. Setup, lighting and editing will be discussed, along with a few smartphone apps that he finds to be indispensable. Cutler received his M.F.A. in photography in 2006 from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, MI, where he also assisted the registrar and preparator of the Cranbrook Art Museum. He earned his B.A. in 1997 from Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, TN and attended the Glasgow School of Art in Glasgow, Scotland in 1995. He is the Gallery Director at the University of Central Missouri and has served as Director of Galleries for Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX; Director's Assistant for The Sir Elton John Photography Collection; and Co-Director and Registrar for Jackson Fine Art Gallery in Atlanta, GA. He has also owned an art installation business. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Arts and Crafts Room of the Warrensburg Community Center. People should enter the building through the main doors. All MMA meetings are free and the public is welcome. Artists, photographers, and persons interested in art are invited to consider MMA membership.
